Jessica Fishenfeld, Actor

Herstory

Theatre and screen actor Jessica Fishenfeld hails from Great Neck, NY, and sojourned a whole 15 miles into NYC to achieve her undergrad and graduate performances degrees at NYU Steinhardt and Manhattan School of Music, and subsequently made NYC her home for the next decade. Just before the world shut down in 2020, she made a “stand out” (New York Times) off-Broadway debut as Brünnhilde in Das Barbecü, and then turned to video producing to continue acting and creating throughout the pandemic.  Most notably, she produced and performed in Grateful: The Songs of John Bucchino, 20th Anniversary Virtual Concert, “one of the slickest, best-produced virtual concerts to come out of the last ten months” (Broadway World), alongside Stephen Schwartz, Leslie Odom Jr., Toni Tennille, Ann Hampton Callaway, among other Broadway, cabaret, and screen luminaries, which was picked up by Streaming Musicals for an encore run on their platform. Then, as life would have it, she was featured on America's Got Talent season 17 performing a singing aerialist routine.

Jessica and her husband Scott Joiner had a pandemic-hiatus in Savannah, GA, where she landed a role in Panhandle (Sony Pictures/Roku/Spectrum), as well as commercials for Tanqueray Gin alongside Joe Jonas, Enmarket, and Parker's Kitchen. She frequently performs with the Savannah VOICE Festival, Front Porch Improv, Tybee Post Theater, and is a writer and actor with sketch comedy film company Mazel Tov Cocktail Comedy.  She recently completed a run as Sophie in Mamma Mia! at The Savannah Theatre, and was featured as both actor and voice actor for Overtone Films's recent documentaries Unwanted and In the Key of Bach.

Jessica often makes appearances as a featured vocalist in NYC, in favorite venues including Jazz at Lincoln Center, Birdland, Minton's Playhouse, Carnegie Hall, Circle in the Square, and National Sawdust.

Speaking of singing... she's turning her latest single ”The Spy” into a short musical film! Last winter, she released her Debut EP The Nothing Lamp with Crossover Records, and an original electro-pop single "Horizon Star" with producer Rituality - all available on streaming (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, etc.).

"As enacted by Jessica Fishenfeld, “The Song with Violins” arrives a scene-in-one. Given to suit her voice, it comes alive with dark comic truth."
